Ruiz Library

The new Ruiz Branch Library sits on a 4 acre tract in the Montopolis Riverside Neighborhood. The concept for the building and site derives from the Balcones Fault outcrop which divides Austin geologically into East and West. The plaza design plays off the imagery of a creek bed with shifted planes of stone and soil and pockets of plantings. Groves of trees recall the original character of the site. Collaboration with the AIPP selected artist includes site specific stonework. (Stanley Architects)
